Fred Nichols: "The objective of my art is to recreate the natural world that surrounds and forms us. We are increasingly separate from nature, living more and more in a manmade and designed environment. Through my study of the wilderness, I hope to renew an interest and desire not only to protect, but also appreciate, the natural world."

Visit the gallery, studio, and printmaking workshop of landscape artist Frederick Nichols.  Nichols’ silkscreen prints, watercolors, and oil paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the country and abroad for over 25 years.  A graduate of Pratt Institute in New York, Nichols was the recipient of a purchase award at the 1991 International of Print in Osaka, Japan, and was invited to exhibit in the 2005 International Biennale of Art in Florence, Italy.

Across the street from Nichols Studio, in a historic building that once housed the Barboursville Hotel, is Nichols Gallery Annex.  The changing exhibits, curated by Beth Nichols, feature the work of this regions finest artists. Among the regular exhibitors are Ron Boehmer,  Pat Cook,  Gray Dodson, Frank Hobbs, Philip Koch, Raoul Middleman,  and Lindsay Nolting.
